WHAT IS THE TYPICAL FUNCTION OF THE FRANCHISE OWNER?

The Franchise Owner is responsible for managing the strategic direction of their business and for creating a positive, client-centric culture.

A typical day in the life of a Franchise Owner can vary greatly. This can include running staff meetings, reviewing monthly operational costs, visiting referral sources, or greeting a new crop of caregivers at new hire orientation.

Primary responsibilities of the Franchise Owner include:

• Work with Franchise Support Center to establish strategic plan to meet financial and operational goals

• Take action, make decisions and shape teams and/or group priorities to achieve business goals

• Delegate all day-to-day activities, including caregiving and scheduling, to appropriate staff • Ensure effective and ongoing, on-the-job training of team members, evaluate individual and team

• Performance and make appropriate developmental recommendations

• Recognize and reward staff whose actions support the company’s vision and values

• Establish criteria and/or work procedures to achieve a high level of quality service

• Engage with the Franchise Support Center team regularly to build an effective working relationship

• Follow the proven model

The Franchisor is looking for compassionate, goal-oriented people with a desire to help others and make a difference in their communities. Strong management and leadership skills are preferred. People with marketing, sales or operations experience are well suited for this industry. The Franchisor also looks for individuals with high, long-term income goals who are equally interested in improving the lives of others. This often comes from a personal experience with home care for a loved one. Other traits they look for are strong people skills, the required amount of capital, financial stability, business/management background, the motivation and desire to succeed, and the willingness to follow a proven franchise system. Medical and healthcare experience is not necessary.

TELL ME MORE ABOUT TRAINING, SUPPORT & SHARING OF BEST PRACTICES

Franchise Owners do not have to be a healthcare expert to start their business. The best practices and tools the Franchisor provides the Franchisees stem from their decades of experience in the home care industry and continuous improvement of their model.

The Franchisor provides Franchisees with initial training, on-going coaching and one-on-one support, field support, annual meetings, national advertising with local marketing options, central purchasing, etc.

ARE THE TERRITORIES PROTECTED?

Territories consist of contiguous zip codes containing a population of up to 35,000 seniors (age 65+). This is one of the largest territories offered in the senior care franchise industry. Each franchisee is granted a protected territory in which no other franchise owner can serve clients.

IS THE INDUSTRY RECESSION FRIENDLY?

The Franchisor’s industry is recession-friendly, because daily care is needed for many seniors regardless of economic factors. Franchise Owners provide both companion care (“hands off” assistance) and personal care services (“hands on” assistance) to people of all ages. As state licenses allow and as franchisees are willing to invest, offices can also provide some nursing services. An additional differentiator is that since 1980 the Franchisor has specialized in the personal care space. Personal care services are provided to individuals who simply cannot live independently without assistance. Roughly 85% of our business across the system comes from these hands-on, care services which are necessary vs. desired services.

HOW WILL I FIND GOOD CAREGIVERS?

Finding good caregivers is crucial to running a home care business. The Franchisor will work with Franchise Owners when developing their Market Action Plan to include local recruiting strategies based on their initial market research. In addition, they have created a turnkey, reliable screening process to help Franchisees manage the task of hiring only the best caregivers.
